This November Garden Grove Inn will host a Knitting Weekend.

Join us November 1-3, 2024 to relax, knit, and join in community and creativity. Make yourself a pair of beautiful fingerless gloves, or make a pair to gift!

We invite you to join us in Union Pier, Michigan for a fun weekend of knitting and community! We’ll use the weekend to knit a delicate pair of fingerless gloves, complete with an in-person instructor, Anna S., and all your materials included.

We’ll take a knitting break on Saturday afternoon for a very fun field trip! We'll visit Sandpiper and Hoof-to-Hanger Fiber Mill in Bridgman (from where your yarn was sourced) before stopping off at the Paws for Humanity Animal Sanctuary in Three Oaks, where we'll get a behind the scenes tour of where the yarn comes from before it's yarn!

Spend the weekend knitting with others in front of the fire and/or with a glass of wine, or take some time away, cozied up in your comfy room! All levels of experience are welcome. We’ll have a plan b beginner's project for newer knitters and those looking to learn!

Come alone, or bring a friend. All rooms are priced from $418-$518, depending on the room size/amenities, for single occupancy. Plan to add $100 for a second occupant, to account for additional knitting materials.

• Dinner when you arrive Friday night (pizza & salad) to enjoy while Anna walks us through and starts us each on the weekend's project

• Knitting intro 7:30 – 9:00 pm ET

Saturday November 2

• Breakfast 9:00 – 10:30 am ET
• All day: Free Time to Knit (or rest, or explore!)
• Snacks & Wine 1:00 pm ET
• Sandpiper / Hoof-to-Hanger Fiber Mill Shopping Visit 2:30 pm ET
• Paws for Humanity Animal Sanctuary Visit 3:30 - 4:30 pm ET

Sunday November 3

• Breakfast 9:00 – 10:30 am ET
• Close out your project, ask any final questions (we’ll send you off with resources & materials to finish your second glove!)
• 1:30 pm ET Check Out

More About Our Teacher, Anna...

Anna taught herself to knit more than 20 years ago and calls it her "therapy". She loves lace knitting, the more complicated the better, but also regularly churns out warm, chunky hats or scarves for Midwest winters. She's got 4 WIPs (Works In Progress) currently hanging out on the needles, and her most recently completed work is a pair of lace fingerless gloves specifically made to take on a trip to Ireland... and then forgotten at home. She lives in Detroit with her husband, 5 year old son, and basement full of yarn.
